Heading to my hotel for the night, I pulled off on the other side of the river from downtown Annapolis looking for a unique vantage point on the city. What I found, underneath a bridge, was a small out of the way park where, evidently, Annapolis' Latino community comes to fish on a regular basis. An amazing number of people lined the rocks next to the water, underneath the overpass itself, relaxing with family and taking in a day's catch. The sunset was a nice one, yellow from Maryland's deep summer humidity, and its tones on the bridge and buildings, coupled with the fishers themselves, made for an irresistible shot.
The buildings across the river belong to the US Naval Academy, headquartered in Annapolis.

Great scene you have found and captured. The bridge was composed perfectly with a superb sense of depth and perspective to build a really interesting view. The lights and tonality are wonderful and play here a key role. Well done!

You made interesting discovery of the life under the bridge. Nice view of the fishermen and fisherwoman and buildings on the other side. Excellent light management.

bella la luce calda e bello come hai composto la foto, con grandi spazi in ombra, in modo tale da far contrastare al meglio luci ed ombre.
Mi piace la curva creata dalla strada ed è bello vedere le persone intente nei loro passatempi.

probably because of the subject of this picture I immediately associated this scene with RHCP song "Under the Bridge".It has so unique mood partially created by the people under the bridge and partially by so lovely light.
Well spotted and executed picture!
Have a nice day

the bridge in here makes the whole picture very eye catching. The chosen POV helped to catch it at very special angle which makes this image very original. The people present under the bridge add very much needed human element and the architecture seen on the other river bank is also quite interesting.
Lovely light which added some nice and warm tones to the colors.

Indeed an other world seen through the eyes of a photographer.
You create a very good panorama view about these area with the bridge and the different buildings in background
Sharpness and clarity make these picture lovely.

The curving structure of bridge makes an interesting and unusual addition to the scene, whilst the people fishing below bring it to life. The domes on the far side of the river make a fine focal point. I like the soft evening light and muted tones. Well spotted.

This is a fine picture where you managed to combine several nice elements. The bridge creates a good diagonal, while at the same time providing several nice curves and a strong vertical emphasis. The anglers add the human presence which I personally cherish highly whenever possible. The light and colors of late afternoon in summer are terrific and make me long desperately for the end of the winter. Today the weather in Stockholm is awful, just rain and slush and general misery.

Aren't these the best, when you come across something unexpected which turns out to be most rewarding? :) Love that golden tone projected onto the overpass, it sets a wonderful atmosphere to match the relaxed scene taking place. Well composed to use the curve of the road as a strong perspective and solid contrast on the underside from the heavy shade. Not a bad view for fishing, hard to argue the spot chosen by this group. Have a great weekend.

Very impressively composed and shooting angle on how the imposing bridge leads at an angle stretching the view all the way.with immense interest around. Awesome light and color hues at late hour of day, good control of highlight and people interaction adding so much vigour and visual impact. A lovely shot and your productive time, Congrats

so what were they fishing for or what did they catch...did you notice?
I'm not sure what it's like here, but where I live the government is extremely strict about fishermen having fishing liscene's - and they patrol the local waters frequently, often catching people and fining them.
nice story to go along with the bridge shot, the bridge is my favorite part of the shot.
I like the sweeping curve :)
see you around
