The St. Charles Avenue streetcar in the Garden District of New Orleans. I got the idea for the blurred background from a photo in my hotel room.

I like the idea, the tones, but for me there is just too much empty blurry space above the streetcar. A crop would be beneficial. Apart from this, quite an original and interesting image.

Very interesting post processing

I love the concept of the blur as a background, i feel that maybe you can blur a little less?? Anyway... it still works very well.

Nice and artistic approach, I like the sepia toning, as well as the clearity of the streetcar's passengers. I wonder what that streetcar's driver must have been thinking when you stood in front of him with your camera ;-)

Great shot Alan. I think the blurring effect is a good idea. Your sepia tones are terrific. I also like the bright headlight.

Interesting shot, all the blur in the background is great, it makes a bizarre image though, as if the transway was coming out of a car wash or from another world in the 4th dimension (as if it was possible !) Great.

Way too over-processed. Good subject though. If your intent was to eliminate the modern background, my technique is just to get closer... Its a lot easier on the eyes.

Magique. J'ai l'impression que le tramway est retenu par un élastique ! Très belle idée, belles lumières et beau cadrage. Bravo !

Grat view of the streetcar and its driver. The clarity of the car contrasts so nicely with the blurred background that there is a 3D effect. Well done.

Particularly, I don't like the excesive post processing on a photo.. I like to post "how it is"... but this one makes me doubt!. I think the "brown&white" is excelent.. and the work you did it to make the blurred background is excelent!. Strange combination. Looks like the train is under a waterfall or coming from the twilight zone. Congratulations and excelent work. Thanks for sharing.

hi alan great shot love the colour and the bluring of the background crop the ground out and it looks as if the tram is on a wire and in freefall
