Mississippi river passing through Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Mississippi river is the largest and the longest river in north America. It starts at Lake Itasca in the Minnesota North Woods, passes through mid continental U.S. and flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Mississippi river is the 3rd among the world's longest rivers.
