Photographer’s Note
On a trip across coastal Georgia's backroads (no reason for it, just wandering), we stumbled across a perfectly preserved jewel of a colonial church in Midway, a strip-of-highway town off Hwy. 17.
The church sat forlorn, dominating a meadow with a huge live oak and a few pines. Across the road, gravestones mellowed sadly in genteel decay. The whole scene was one of loneliness and melancholy, but the place was spotlessly upkept.
Under the rolling clouds, the elegant building continues to believe in its long-faded glory.
Took the pic in RAW, switched to monochrome, adjusted color levels and contrast to highlight the church's brooding demeanor and bring out the hint of clouds.

Hi Joel,
I'm surprised no one has commented yet, for me it's a nice rendition in the colours you have chosen and the contrast between the clouds and the dark sky is effective. I personally would have composed the shot so that the spire is centre of the frame, not the roof, because at the moment it looks like the church is falling backwards. I guess it's down to preference though!
Regards
Lee
