Photographer’s Note

An advice: you are not learning anything about the world through this photo!

I can't even think about a title....and the issues:

- noise (noise reduction was applied but it's still there)
- washed out colors (the filters but not too much)
- not enough light traces (I took them from the other shots)
- what else? Does it worth it to be posted? I had to think several minutes before doing it. Somehow I like the visual.

I took this shot on US route 1 in Florida at sunset (that's the last one I promess)...sorry, lack of photos and imagination.

Olá Carlos,
quando está sem inspiração fica difícil mesmo dar títulos as fotos, mas estradas sempre são locais interessante e que trazem boas recordações, pelo menos pra mim que adoro viajar, e de carro de preferência. Aqui gostei desse céu bem dramático, cheio de textura nas nuvens, os carros ficaram apenas bons detalhes, pelo menos pra mim. Bela foto.

I like how much room the dramatic sky takes in this picture. The vertical format is a good idea. Great shapes of the clouds and great golden tones of the sky. Great contrasts and details. Good post processing removing all the noise. Good work!

Eu gosto muito desta imagem e creio que define muito bem o conceito de um ceu dramático.
Para mim, a composição está perfeita e o facto de teres dado realce ao ceu escuro fori uma opção excelente. O movimento na estrada está espectacular e diz-nos que a vida continua mesmo com ceus ameaçadores.

I'm sure you've got lot's of photos ;) but sometimes it is difficult(also for me) to choose which one you'll post and to find a proper title!
I don't mind to see sunset photos, especially here with the warm colors contrasting nicely with the darker elements! Lovely sky which plays an important part in this picture and good capture of the car lights...perspective is also great.

Hi Carlos,

Beautiful management of the lights of this sunset, I find that the noise is hardly perceptible. I like much the place allotted to the sky which gives a good depth to the image. On the other hand, pay attention to the title, although for my part that does not obstruct me, there were precedents !!! Pretty photographs, thank you Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

When you are not happy then you have to work harder to get that shot you have in mind. Two options, or straight from the camera or trying to get a guru inside Photoshop ;-)
Maybe it's not what you hoped on the large size, but here it itsn't that bad at all. Okay there is still some noise, but who cares, it's really not that disturbing....at least not to me.
You know what i like...the horizon, that light that comes from that whole area in yellow and golden toning...pure magic, really wonderful.
As said, work harder not matter were or what till you are satisfied. but for me this picture works...maybe that helps you a bit ;-)

you can post as much sunset as you like,it will not disturb me,they are some of the most beautiful moments of the day!Here,you have a wonderful sky,I love the contrast between the golden clouds with the dark parts,and I love the small lines of light given by the cars!This is not so noisy,if you didn't speak about it,I could not see it!I just think that it was worth to post this beautiful photo!

Pela miniatura achei a foto um pouco escura, mas ao abri-la mudei de idéia. A luminosidade do céu ficou muito boa. E esse efeito dos traços deixados pelos carros eu acho sempre muito interessante!

Mas que nota tão negativa, Carlos. No entanto admiro a tua honestidade e tenho muitas vezes as mesmas dúvidas com as minhas fotos, incluindo a que acabei de postar. A foto até está bem bonita e demonstra as tuas qualidades como fotógrafo. O show no céu é fantástico e gosto de toda esta verticalidade com o pdv rebaixado. Nem sei se o facto de não ter mais riscas de luzes é negativo...Seja como for gosto muito da atmosfera capturada.

É sua exigência que garante e, sobretudo, continuará produzindo fotos cada vez melhores. Concordo com o Henk, o ruído não me incomoda nesse tamanho. Para um entusiasta da atmosfera, nada mais bonito do que um espetáculo de nuvens, luzes, sombras, raios. Começo dizendo que a composição está perfeita: a rodovia no sexto inferior, capturada em diagonal, com seu ponto de fuga bem dinâmico à esquerda; o sol no terço inferior direito, lançando raios de luz na diagonal sob a camada de stratocumuli perlucidus; e, o que realmente traz o elemento de maior sensibilidade, as lacunas de céu e nuvens regadas de laranja no terço superior. O enquadramento vertical está perfeitamente realizado. Entretanto, para que o impacto fosse maior, arrebatando o observador, o efeito de movimento dos carros teria de ser um pouco mais acentuado (como vc já disse) e a porção superior do quadro teria de estar mais iluminada, contrastando mais com a região de penumbra. Aí, sim, a imagem iria saltar à vista. Mas, se isso não for material publicável, então nós amadores estamos fritos, porque é foto muito boa, tanto técnica quanto artisticamente.

You doubts of your talent and the interest of this photograph? , it is not justified. On the one hand it is a superb sky, with beautiful colors. In addition framing is well thought and spectacular. I like the broad place made with the sky. A beautiful image which learns some to us more on the World, that many other images which I discover every day on TE, including mine.

Em minha opinião sempre aprendemos algo através de fotos. Essa por exemplo mostra que a beleza de um por-de-sol transcende nosso mundo material. Adorei o efeito das luzes dos carros. Lembrei de um joguinho do velho Atari que eu jogava com meu filho. Acho que você também jogou.

impressive sky, the vertical framing works very well with a large part for the cloudy and threatening sky, the headlights balance the picture which could have been too dark in the foreground.

A bit late, but here I am... trying to catch up with y'all. A picture that totally works for me, definitely worth to be posted. There are no major nor minor issues bothering me in this one, but I know, I understand... I often tend to look at my own shots in the same way...

Oi Carlos,

Nao e das minhas favoritas na sua galeria. Embora tenha sim um nao sei o que acho a foto no geral bastante escura. Talvez neste caso teria preferido uma tomada horizontal enfatizando a parte iluminada e reduzinfo a uma pequena faixa a parte escura no topo da composicao... A qualidade achai muito boa, inclusive a questao do ruido teria sido diminuida reduzindo a area escura. Os carros estao interessantes.

Carlos, estou bem impressionado com o pouco valor que voce mesmo deu a sua imagem e o quanto reposta voce obteve. Nao teria dado todo esse mal credito a imagem. A parte com o so penetrando na parte inferior das nuvens esta um verdadeiro espetaculo. Pena que o sol nao deu mai luz para iluminar a parte superior da imagem. Sera que nao teria dado para 'puxar' mais o PP naquela parte para dar mais uma impressao dourada. Os carros na horizontal inferior da foto sao apenas dethalhes minimos e assim mesmo fiquei bastante impressionado com o detalhe de isso ser uma composicao de varias fotos todas feitas sem tripe.

the vertical presentation makes it more intruiging- a mixture of gold and black that sure is eye-catching. it gives an ambigous feel of rain coming and a sundown that "doesn't want to set"...:-)

A spectacular shot with a very dramatic sky. The warm colors are beautiful and the light of the sun coming through the clouds is superb. The fine silhouettes of the trees and colorful ribbons of car lights catch the eye and add interest. Very skillful and fine work!

I remember I wanted to comment on this photo, but never got around doing that :) I agree that more traces would look better, but I quite like the photo as it is, the cloudy sky and rays of sun add quite a drama, and it's interesting how tiny the cars look, nice reminder about our place :)
