Photographer’s Note
At the Florida welcome station on Interstate 10 coming east from Alabama, one is greeted by a symbol of the U.S. Navy, who are stationed in many locations throughout Florida, including nearby Pensacola. This is a representation of one of the famous Blue Angels (official site). The Blue Angels are not war planes, but air show favorites, since the pilots train almost year round for the spectacular air stunts they perform.
After a long day of driving, it was nice pulling into our home (Florida anyway) and seeing the lovely sunset behind us. I liked how this Blue Angel seemed to fly into the wild blue yonder (oops, that's another branch of the armed forces), with just a sharp silliouette. Comments appreciated.

effet rigolo avec cet avion, sinon bel couleur du ciel qui fait ressortir l'avion en ombre chinoise!

Hi Michelle,
I like the idea :) You can crop from the top just above the jets nose. So it is not that centered :) Good half silhouette shot. Yours, Jan

Was the silhouette intentional or just using what light was available? I agree with CVT Jan and would have removed the empty space above and to the left of the plane.

This reminds me of a plane just like that one, near where I live, next time I must take a photo of it. I agree about cropping the top off the photo, Good job!

An interesting shot Michelle although the plane could do with being either better lit (fill-in flash perhaps) or the contrast boosted to make it more in silhouette. At the moment is seems a bit flat.
Whoops - I've just read your replies, so my comment doesn't really add much, I guess. I also thought the amount of sky you've included does work, for the very reason you mention.
I also think I know the plane Andrew mentions which is in memory of Sir Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet engine. I also might try for a shot - thanks for the inspiration.
