Photographer's Note
About 2 weeks ago my daughter told me about a pair of bald eagles nesting in a tall pine tree in North Fort Myers and only about 8 miles from where I live. She also told me about the live "eagle cam" that shows life in the nest 24/7. "Ozzie and Harriet" moved to that location in late 2006/early 2007 and have raised many offspring there over the years.
In this photo Harriet is about 4 feet away from the nest but still in a position to keep an eye on her 2 chicks. The nest is about 60 feet above the ground.
If you would like to view the eagle cam you can go here:

The website also contains a lot of interesting information about Ozzie and Harriet and their history.
400mm f2.8 lens w/ 2x teleconverter. Cropped original image a little bit.

Hi Gregory
very nice picture with great sharpness. The eye of eagle is very impressive. I didn't know some eagles live in Florida. Congratulations.
Best Regards.
