It's tough to capture herons with anything less than a 500mm and here you do it with a 85mm lens. Great sharpness, good capture.

I'm just wondering, how long had you wait for that shoot!?
By the way, I would crop that yellow leave in the left and then crop some from right so that bird would left in the centre and background would be more contrastfull, more green.

Yeah ! Nice bird and great picture ! I would enlarge the picture a little bit if you cropped it so as to include the yellow leaf. To me, the wonderful color of the heron and such yellow leaves go well together...

Nevertheless, I find the scene really well balanced.

Terrific nature shot. It shows the heron beautifully in its natural surroundings. Main subject looks really sharp with the background slightly soft but still recognisable.
Very well done.

Lovely nature shot. So nice and very fortunate to be able to shoot that heron so close. I like that he is walking and not just standing as we often see herons.
