Photographer’s Note
I have landed in Miami many times but never before with the opportunity to see through my window the downtown area with the right light on a clear evening. This time I was lucky enough and I was sitting in the right side of the airplane looking north, unfortunately the mirror of my window wasn't clean but I tried to get a shot anyway. The main subject of this picture is the downtown area of Miami in the middle of the picture, on the left side you can see the beginning of the expressway I-95 that ends in Maine.
On the right side you can see the Miami Bay and harbor and causeways that connect Miami with Miami Beach plus Miami Beach and North Miami Beach in the right upper part of the photo.
The flight from Santo Domingo to Miami takes about one hour and 50 minutes.
Hope you like it.

Hello Emile,
I don't know why but when I have a window seat the glass always has a lot of scratches :(
The view here is very clear. The composition is good and the blue ocean makes a very good contrast.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Emile,
This is an interesting shot for me, since I have also flown to Miami many times. I was able to spot the causeway right away, and remember the drive to Miami Beach very well. This great POV is filled with so many details, and the depth is also amazing. I like the way I-95 snakes like a vein through the frame.

Bonsoir, mon ami Emile,
Magnifique composition.

Bonsoir mon ami Emile,

Beautiful shot! You were lucky to get the right light. This is amazing. The shot looks like it has been set up. The smudges of the windows did not even show. Very well done.

Hola Emile,
Views from planes are always interesting when there is clear weather and huge city below. Of course we loose quality because we shoot through a window, but it's the view itself what counts and here with the skyscrapers and highway you found a great perspective depth even with limited space from your small window view...very nice.

Henk

Hi Emile,It looks really a pretty town. The POV is very good and the line of buildings adds character to the scene. Very nice hues of blue in sky and in the water, sky and buildings. A really nice view along the coastline with the several levels in view. The colours, the blue in FG of the water in particular, and the light are very nice. Good photo work! Well done

Hola, Emile,
Interesante presentacion.

Hola, querido amigo Emile,
Pili y Josep

Hello Emile
The Dominant POV is great, how difficult for taking a picture from a plane.
I tried to do a WS, it was not so easy for me To make it with a natural way.

Very well done, Emille. This is the sort of image that can be produced when all the elements collaborate. The lighting, lack of clouds, the cooperation of the pilot, and having easy access to a camera. There was an aerial photograph sent in a few years ago by massimiliano raineri that I think you would like of Venice, also the result of fortuitous elements.
Warm regards,

You have a pleasing array of images in your gallery, Emile, and it's hard to pick even one for comment. But I really like the depth and dimension of this aerial shot of Miami. Plane shots are tough -- scratchy windows, sudden shifts in speed and perspective. You've captured a moment with good lighting, as you say, taken advantages of the lines and contrast in the scene to good effect (I especially love that intensely blue water), and handled it all (no pun intended) on the fly. This one shows of the city well, and it works very well.
TFS,
Jim

Hola Emile
Loved the contrast between the deep blue sea in the FG & the concrete jungle almost erupting from the shore, plateauing out towards the hinterland. Fantastic sharpness and details in this shot, which taken from the flight window has been excellently captured!
