Photographer's Note

Key West, the southernmost city in the continental U.S., is the largest and most vibrant of a chain of tiny islands called the Florida Keys that are scattered, like a string of pearls, south of Miami. It was first settled in the 1820s and considered America's richest city per capita in 1886. It is compact, laidback and kitschy-cute, filled to the brim with gingerbread cottages and Victorian mansions. (Online source)
