Old railway bridge, a photo from Florida, South

Photographer's Note

The railway no longer binds the Keys islands (south of Florida). A railway built in 1905 and abandoned after the hurricane damage in 1935 ... There is that old bridge ... with missing sections!
Since you can drive between islands to Key West by a road : the Overseahighway (we guess the picture on the right). Photo taken from Bahia Honda Key.

Une belle image exotique, le train ne passe plus mais le pont fait toujours parti du décor. Le palmoer bizarre fait bien dans le décor.

Hello Jean,
The palm tree with its curiously twisted trunk makes a superb frame for the old railway bridge. The image is very nicely lit and has lovely natural colours and excellent sharpness.

questo ponte è diventato un monumento in ricordo dell'urgano. Bella la composizione con la diagonale data dal ponte che guida l'occhio verso il centro dell'immagine che va ad incrociarsi con la bella palma.

Bonjour Jean,

La longueur du pont donne d ela profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du pont. La bonne luminosité met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bon weekend.

J'aime beaucoup la petite histoire qui accompagne l'image. Que de gaspillage de ne pas utiliser le train pour faire les keys. J'aime le point de vue et la lumière.

Hi Jean, Fine construction ot his railway bridge, what a pity the train can't go there any more. I was on florida some years ago and I planned to go to the Keys. unfortunately the hurricane Rita came and all the people were evacuated. Very nice shot, i like the inclusion of this curvy palm tree.

le vieux pont abandonné, avec une section détruite par un ouragan, c'est comme un souvenir d'époques passées, et sa perspective donne un bon graphisme à ta composition.
J'aime la combinaison du pont avec le palmier et la végétation dans l'avant-plan, et avec les tonalités de l'eau de la baie.
Un beau travail.

Looking at it, I can only imagine the abstract possibilities.
I like how in your compo you've added the classic Floridian subjects with the palm trees and aqua green waters.
I can almost feel the misty air off of the water :)

this is a great composition full of interest, drama, beautiful colours and natural textures. The bent palm tree on the foreground offers great depth and balance to the composition making room for the dynamic perspective of the interrupted bridge. I love the way diagonals and curves have been combined in the picture. I also love the quite strong but uncertain light and the alternation of contrasting colours. Congratulations and thank you!

Nice shot with the subject in the background on this one - a really photogenic old bridge, and perfectly placed in the opening created by the bend of the palm at right. I wonder if the bridge was opened simply due to decay, or in order to allow sea travel through?

An intreresting bridge for sure - with pieces missing from it! I alos like the curves of the palm tree inthe FG as its lines provide a good contrast to the diagonal straight line of the bridge. Beautiful tropical colours and excellent sharpness too.

Très intéressante prise de vue et parfaite composition. Le train à besoin d'une bonne vitesse pour sauter d'un côté à l'autre. Ta photo me rappelle le fils de la Rivière Kwai de 1957. J'aime beaucoup l'avant-plan avec ce palmier qui a subit les effets du temps. Belle présentation et superbes couleurs.
