Photographer’s Note

This is the view from the fueling dock at the Fernandina Beach City Marina. Notice the American flag flying high over this island of 8 flags. Amelia Island, a scant thirteen miles long and 2 miles wide gracing the northeast coast of the state of Florida, enjoys a unique and fascinating history. The only community to have experienced life under eight different flags, this beautiful and charming seaport village is characterized by stately Victorian era architecture and a history that rivals any in the country.
