Photographer’s Note
While on a photo walk in Georgetown I saw this building overrun by ivy and the irony of this at an Ivy League school did not escape my notice.
:::
The term Ivy League originally denoted strictly an athletic conference comprising eight private institutions of higher education in the Northeastern United States, but its meaning has broadened. Now it can refer to any elite or prestigious university. Under this broader definition, these institutions place near the top in the U.S. News & World Report college and university rankings and rank within the top one percent of the world's academic institutions in terms of financial endowment.
