Election Day in the US. This young artist has been travelling around the country with six portraits with the sole purpose of engaging people in dialogue. The portraits are not intented to demonize or idolize the subjects. By the discussions that follow the portraits cleary have very differnt messages for the observer.
As the ballot boxes are being counted at this moment across the country, I thought this was an apt photo to share, and maybe start our own dialogue. What is Bush thinking?

Nice note, great picture. I love the composition here with the low pov and the Monument in the bg. A very very good photojournalistic shot Elaine.

I'll resttain myself form commenting on other than your very nicely observed daily life shot. Good compo, and inlcuding the monument in the mall in the frame is a good touch.

Wow that's a great reportage pic : W. shouldn't grin too much by now :(((...
Your composition is great, with an artist looking beyond the frame while politics try to get your attention with the "in-your face" look, plus you've added a distinctive Washington monument behind, couldn't be more accurately timed.
If I had a magazine illustration in charge a day before the vote, I would definitely buy your image! very well seen and achieved, Congrats.

He's pretty sad looking isn't he don't you think Elaine. I would guess the world is pretty much has been beating around the Bush quite a lot lately. He is pouting like a baby,on the brink of tears and he needs his mummy right about now. Big time.
You have an engaging scene here Elaine and the guy on board, is something like a guy behind a rostrum. Much in a different way.

a very nice initiative.. a great shot too. Very well composed. I do agree with Luko..
If only people could exchange and talk a bit more instead of staying always in the same surroundings...
But it's a very difficult task, i suppose.

What here is great is not that you captured some paintings but the way you did it, on the side in slight perspective with the fine detail of the man on top towards the obiliks and the sky with white clouds exploding from back over the whole scene, in one word strrronnng composition Elaine !

A great and amusing picture, Elaine, and beautifully composed. It looks like a very carefully taken picture. Your subject makes Bush look as crazy and dangerous as he really is. Even the obelisk in the background looks like a ballistic missile. I get a shudder of fear when I look at it, especially when you realize that he actually won.

Very nice p[iece of photojournalism here. It could be used in several magazines...the one that comes to mind is the Economist.
It is certianly an election time type of photograph...and I guess the painter knew it as well.
