I happened upon this moment at the National Botanic Gardens in Washington DC when I was visiting earlier this month. This poor little guy had apparently just discovered how fragile Christmas ornaments can be!
In the midst of what seemed to me like hundreds of pre-schoolers, it was his bad luck to have knocked something off the tree. His mama was picking up the fragments and scolding him quietly in a language I didn't recognize, and the little dude's frozen-in-his-tracks body language was just precious (see workshop for another one of him.)
This is one of those photographs that is not for the art of it, but rather for capturing a moment ~ we've all been there ;)

Kids of the world, unite! Children are the same all over, and body language seems to be universal. This is a cute photo and so expressive that it can be undertood even without a note.
Ględelig Jul to you too.

all the best to you and yours, and may the new year bring to you many travels and street photos.

That precious moment is cleverly observed and that's what I like top class idea that works to perfection when the composition has all the right things and precisely timed trigger. This is still a wonderful seasonal image and the spirit of Christmas. Congrats
Wishing you a very Happy Christmas

I was able to sneak one last peek today and came across this shot, what a sweet moment...I would call it "festively scared straight!" lol An opportunity seized at just the right moment, this little boys frozen stance tells quite the story. :) Another human interest image with emotion and spontaneity, beauty shot! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and happy holiday season my friend. Here's to many more great times ahead! Take good care.
My warm and friendliest wishes,

Hi Kristin. Thank goodness that the mum spoke to him softly as the little fellow looks as if the weight of the whole world's misdeeds are on his shoulders. I am sure that he didn't mean to break anything and it is sad how a moment of joy and adventure can turn into one of confusion and possibly guilt- all because something so fragile has been placed within the reach of little delighted hands by adults who should know better. Some cheap, synthetic imitation from china would not break.
Amazing that you caught this moment. Best wishes to you and yours during these festivities and for the new year.Sretan Boić. Klaudio.

an unusual picture of Xmas, he seems disappointed by what he has done, but it's everyday life, even in this special day.
Congratulations for your human pictures posted during this year, longing to see some more next year.
Have a merry Christmas.
