A huge flag was laid out in front of the Capitol Building in DC that day with collages and drawings of different kids in the community. It was pretty neat to see such a huge collage!
This picture is quite blurry and had low resolution, so I'm sure it looks horrible on your screens. happypoppeye (John Paskey) tried helping me again, but I think this picture was pretty much hopeless and it didn't work this time around! Plus the last red stripe in the photo is crooked compared to the horizon, not sure if it works here? Well, it was still a nice day since it was my first time taking a tour of DC and I had a great guide too! ;o)

Good catch Elizabeth. The diagonals of the Americna flag on the ground going through the photo looks great and is a perfect foreground for the Capitol building in the background. Nice blue sky and good greens in the grass and trees. Composition is excellent with the Capitol off to the left and the people walking through the photo also.

Nice work.
John

Hello Elizabeth,
a well composed picture, those pieces of flags lead our look to the the whithe house, a good juxtaposition.
Cheers
Luan

Hello Elizabeth,
I like the POV here, and the colorful, different-style flag that is laid out in the foreground. It is also nice that you captured some people walking between the flag and the White House.

Hey Liz,

Pattern, Texture and Symbolism. I like the way the intent of seeing a pattern using an American flag across an American Icon. The pattern seen at the foreground stretches to the end of the frame which makes a strong image. Even from a thumbsnail, the red, white and blue are evident which relates to the other element of the photograph which is the Capitol buiding.

A clever visualisation, a great spread of nationalism - great POV, treatment and composition!

Have a great one!

Jom

Hey Liz
wonderful compo, the building is in right position and the good Pov gives power to the image.
Sharpness and overall clarity is fine. Well done!
Take care
Freddy

Hi Liz..you have a nice clear way of composing your photos. You are too hard on yourself. This shot is better than you desccribed. Remember this is art after all and the technical apects are only part of the picture. I think the stripes on the bottom are better not being straight.

Roger

Hello Elizabeth.

Good and imaginative composition. The colours in the foreground leads to the perfect perspective...that's admirable in this.
The red stripe, that works well, a perfect balancing here. Why have doubts? As always, you have the great JOHN for the timely help. Kudos to you and John.
Enjoy life.
Salutes.

I'm not quite sure what you're complaining about this shot here, Elizabeth. It looks fine to me with a good crafted composition. The flag or collage in the foreground is an excellent element for Capitol building in the background. The Capitol being off center to the left is strong as well as those people walking through the scene. All this elements gives a good sense of depth and gives life to the image.

Hi Elizabeth,
........and 5 stars.

Well, the composition is excellent in my opinion. It doesn't matter if the red stripe doesn't perfectly align with the bottom edge of the frame, because.... it just doesn't. The placement of the Capitol Building in the frame is perfect, and this huge flag makes for eye-catching foreground.

Hi Elizabeth,
this is a very good shot, well captured and presented. I would say that everything look perfect here. the american flag on the ground play an important role in your compo as I consider it a sort of "guide line" through the pic. The Capitol off centered is well positioned and clear enough, also its contrast against the blue sky is very good! The trees as a natural frame with the beautiful green colour are good too and the choice to include people walking is spot on!
Excellent done!!
Thanks
Igor

Belle photo de ces drapeaux, bande étalée dans ce parc. Très jolis, belles couleurs et belle vue sur le capitol building. Amitiés Thomas

Hello Elizabeth -

I don't know what your complaints are about this image. Yes, the BG is just a bit soft due to the focus point or the DOF but the remainder of the image is sharp. You POV is causing what looks like a non-parallel placement of the closest stripe. If you had been perpendicular to the stripes and the capitol all of the stripes would be parallel. As it is, the closer to the lens the more apparent distortion appears. The FG stripe is not distorted. This is a great composition - I like it. Well done!

Thank you for sharing.

John

Beautiful colors. Very well seen picture of the capitol building. Never been there, but really want to. You do good job with this picture. Sothy

Hi Elizabeth,
I like your POV here. The Flag and the Capitol Building in the same frame is a great idea. Very well done.

Shaeri

Hi Elizabeth,
From what I see on my screen now, image quality isn't that bad, at least at this TE size. I like the very american character of the image, from that angle it jumps at the eyes at once. This is why some more marketing would be handy, posting this image on july 4th would definitely be more impactful, ok I know it's a long wait to go ;-)
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves
