Photographer’s Note
This is a view upstream of Cedar Creek in Petit Jean State Park, Arkansas.
Petit Jean is the first state park in Arkansas, and contains both extraordinary beauty and archeological significance. Cedar Creek continues for another half mile from this location to 95-foot Cedar Falls in Cedar Canyon. Just above the falls, there is a large rock shelter, incorrectly named Rock House Cave, where you can see 500 year-old Native American pictographs.
I took this picture in the late afternoon of a perfect early spring day. I had to stand out on a rock in the creek to get it. Notice the eroded sandstone boulders along the creek.
I'd like to see someone workshop it and post their version.
