Photographer’s Note

A few years ago when my wife and I went to Hot Springs, Arkansas for our ten year anniversary, we stopped in Little Rock on the way back to check out the William J. Clinton Presidential Center. While I was staunchly conservative at the time, and had very little respect for this past president, I let my wife talk me into checking this place out. I was glad I did. I'm going to have to find a decent photo of the outside of the building - it's impressive in it's own way, a large, long structure of brushed steel and green glass.

It was an interesting museum. You expected that perhaps the president or maybe even Hillary would step out of a doorway at any given time due to all the security at this place. I searched and searched but could not find one reference or photograph of Monica Lewinsky, either.

The folks on the bottom left of the photograph are looking at the Timeline, an exhibit that "contains the complete presidential schedules of almost 3,000 days of the administration. Its panels recount the major events of the Clinton years and places them in the context of his presidency." The columns on each side "serve as bookshelves for almost 5,000 archival boxes that hold nearly eight percent of the actual historical documents of the administration." There was even a mock-up of the Oval Office as it was during Bill Clinton's tenure. I shot a panorama of it, but it needed so much work that I abandoned it long ago.

I shot this with my Oly 8080WZ, a wonderful camera, but now that I have the Nikon, I will definitely stop by this museum again if I get close.

Have a great first day of Spring!
