Photographer’s Note
Another nature shot, this time jumping back to Arkansas. I shot this from a mountaneous road in the Ozarks, near the city of Fayetteville.
I personally regret how I framed this. I think a vertical shot would have been more relavent, but not a vertical crop, maybe even more zoomed in on the house.
But eventually I decided to share it with you, because the scenery just after a night time rain, was superb, with clouds rising up from the mountains and the sky beginning to break up. I personally envy the people living in that farm house, for all the beauty around them
anyways, hope you like it.

Hi Behrang,
Great photo.
I love your composition with the 3 distinct bands of colours.
Very effective.

The varied levels of color are quite beautiful. I like how the trees have the background of the mountain side.
The structure semi hidden helps scale the whole image. I like the fog and how you handled. You transmit well the feekling of fog as it begins to creep in.

I certainly agree that some more zoom in the house would have been more relevant, to the name as well.

Hi Behrang - simple but wonderful, looks like a flag, with the green sandwiched between the yellow and gray.

Hi Behrang, You have done a nice job to show the different layers of the gold, green, and gray colors in this picture. I enjoy the saturated golden color in the foreground. Instead of possible zooming in more to the house, I do like the grand view provided in this picture, which show the grand view of the natural. A enjoyable picture. Well done.

Hi Behrang. As far as your framing I think I would have kept is landscape orientation but I certainly would have zoomed out quite a bit from the 55mm you were at. But I do like the post-processing. Nice work Behrang!

Hi Behrang,
A very well composed shot which well portrays the beauty of this region. I like how you have subtly depicted the farmhouse. The foreground grass colour contrasts so perfectly with the green of the trees and the sky is dramatic. A classic three part composition. Having said that, I agree with your note that a portrait/vertical format might have been preferable, though in this shot you do gain the formidable ambience created by the threatening sky. A great shot nonetheless.

Hi Behrang,
I love this shot, is like a painting. The three dominant colours yellow, green and grey are wonderful. The sky is so dramatic!! Very nice work, bravo!

most landscapes are done with horizontal framing... personnally it's my preference too. the color variation in this photo works well. and the cloud formation made a powerful contrast... thank you.

Bonsoir Behrang,

Hi Behrang,
I'm not sure about the horizontal or vertical framing problem, but I like it this way ! The heavy sky contrasting with the colourfull foreground. For sure I agree with you about envying the people living there !
Saludos,
Youssef, coming back...

I don't think you should have regrets about this shot. The great effect of colour layers would have gone - partly - lost I think using a vertical frame. A zoom on the house from this angle would not have helped the image to my modest opinion. You did the right thing; it's a very peaceful and mysterious image that draws the viewer into the image and makes you breath the atmosphere. If I were a painter, I would not mind having painted it!
