Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken in a moment of sunshine on this cloudy day. The early evening sun peaked through the clouds for just a few minutes illuminating this field and horses. Ten Acorns Farm is privately owned and located on Alabama's Lookout Mountain (not to be confused with the more famous Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga Tennessee). This area was originally home to the Cherokee Indians before they were removed by the U.S. government. Lookout Mountain and Ft. Payne were both parts of the infamous "Trail of Tears", where the Cherokee Indians were forced to leave their lands and walk to reservation in the western U.S. One out of every 10 of these native Americans did not survive the journey. More info about the Trail of Tears can be found at this site

Hi Asa,
I like the warm light over this rural landscape. The picture is nicely divided by the fence and the trees into three parts (more or less...). The shadow pointing towards the cows is a good detail.
Kind regards

Bonjour Asa,
j'aime beaucoup les scènes bucoliques et les jolis paysages de campagne, aussi simples soient-ils. Une composition qui me plait donc énormément, avec une jolie palette de verts.
Best regards.
Daniel.

Hi Asa, Nice picture that could be taken also in Poland. Pleasant meadow with horses in splendid light - the main attraction of the shot. beautiful trees in bg. Interesting note. Are there still Cherokee Indians somewhere? Sad story.

Hello Asa,
A beautiful and simple image of this pradrera with horses grazing in a relaxed atmosphere with soft lighting and colors. Want to lean on the fence and spend a while contemplating the scene.
Best wishes,

Hi Asa,
Really like the inclusion of the fence which draws the eye gently to this wonderful bucolic scene.
Love how the shadows on the springtime grasses lead to lovely varying shades of lush green.
Excellent note about the Trail of Tears. PBS had a feature on it a few weeks ago.

Hi Asa,
the diagonal line of the fence is an asset to the composition. The presence of the person and of the horses has an effect of scale. «thr trees are framing well the field. The point of view leads our eyes toward the trees in the background which is giving depth to the photo. «the colors are enhanced by the quality of the light. Have a nice day.

Hello Asa,
this time the weather was not so helpful to you, it could have offered a bit nicer sky. But the low and warm lights are excellent and with the proper foregrund the picture is really attractive. Well, and after reading your note one could accept even a less good photo of this place.
Best whishes
Laszlo
