Photographer’s Note

Kiesel Park is located about 5 miles west of Auburn, Alabama (home of Auburn University).
The park features a two and one quarter mile gravel trail which winds through wide open fields full of all sorts of wildflowers, thistle and other interesting plants. The park is a favorite with dog owners. I went there to run and to view beautiful sunsets. Sometimes I would go to star gaze even though it is nominally closed after dark. In recent years the park has been made accessible from Auburn by way of bicycle trails. Auburn is a designated Bicycle Friendly Community.
This was taken in February. The trees at the bottom of the frame grow along a small creek flowing through the park.
