Hi Kevin,
Firstly a warm welcome to TE, which I am sure you will enjoy immensely.
As a start to your life on this site, I want to say that this image definitely has a good mood to it......last rays of the sun reflecting off the small yacht harbour, surrounded by palms....very nice subject. You are going to find that a good photo needs more than a good subject...you've got to get the clarity a lot sharper, and in the case of horizon shots, you've got to get them straight...this one is angled quite badly down on the right. Sorry to be so critical on your first photo, but that's the only way to learn. I went through the same process and I believe I have improved over time....slightly.
Anyway, hope I haven't been too harsh, and I look forward to seeing others from your in the future.
