In the Village, a photo from New York, Northeast

Photographer's Note

The weather was pretty nice on March 19. I decided to walk around Greenwich village in the borough of Manhattan. The village is bordered by Broadway to the East, Hudson River to the West, Houston Street to the South and 14th street to the North.
The buildings are shorter allowing more sunshine to the streets. Many streets are lined with nice cafes and shops which are independently owned. I enjoyed the colors. Here on one of the small side streets saw this wall and decided to capture it.

PS: Thanks to Daniel and Denis for constructive criticism . This is how I learn to take better photographs. I will try not to make such errors.

Besides the beautiful young ladies who seem to be chatting on daily affairs, I thought for a moment you had flown to Portugal, Lakshmi.
The blue typical tiles, the magnificent "Azulejos" came instead to NYC...
Good blue on red wall, lamps also decor the scenery, and a strange sign over the threshold.

Bonjour Lakshmi,
scène sympathique, jolis sourires. Dommage pour le jambes coupées. Un format vertical bien pensé pour avoir toute cette décoration dont le bleu tranche bien avec le rouge écarlate. J'aurais cadré un peu plus bas.

Hello Lakshmi ,
opening the thimbnail , some ones think about the Potugal . For me , I thought it was a picture from India ! But looking at the girls ...;)
It seems that it is a portuguese decorative element .
I like this colorful scene , but as Daniel , I should have prefered a framing towards the bottom , cropping the balcony a little disturbing , and the get the entire wheel .

beautiful girls, one of them has some very sexy stockings and a beaming smile, very beautiful colors, I might have opted for a horizontal frame including the bicycle in whole, is still a great shot...have a good day...

Hello Lakshmi,

I agree this wall is eye catching with it's two contrasting colors. I like the lamps on each side and the vine that sticks to the upper part. I like the girls also eh ... eh. Me too, I agree with Daniel and Denis. But overall, a nice composition with sharp colors.

I too love your POV here in this picture. You know sometimes you don't have much time to take a picture while thinking of the best way to take it in regards to BG and FG and etc.....sometimes were just lucky to have the moment to take one. And with the two girls being involved here, you probably couldn't spend too much time visually cropping the photo to perfection, because someone might think you were a not a good person, or the girls could just end up moving. So with that being said, great job here Lakshmi!! (God, I hope I didn't ramble on too much here)

I love the BG colors and clarity to surroundings. Your POV of course is fun and playful in the matter of daily life. Beautifully presented and accepted greatly Lakshmi!!

the blue mosaïc give a beautiful background to these 2 young women chatting cheerfully.This is well framed with the lanterns ,but maybe you could have cut under the balcony and let the legs of the women.But I know that street scene are difficult.Anyway, this is very well seen.

I liked the colors and the natural pose of these girls, I guess this image could be perfect if you had cut off the upper side and showed more of their legs and feet. anyway it is difficult be fast in this kind of street portraits and we are ever hunting the soul of the compo and in few seconds is difficul to organize all those details. TFS.
