[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This modern barn in the Mettawee Valley just outside Pawlett, Vt. is here due to several samll dairy farms in this area going under due to low milk prices. Usally the laregest farm in the area will take over the fields of those failed farmers. The owners certainly picked a lovely backdrop for their red barn.

Hello Tom,
Excellent winter scenery in the Mettawee valley!
good pov with excellent exposure and focus in the shot that brings out sharpness, warm colouration and details
many thanks for sharing this beautiful shot
cheers
Tony

A very pretty winter scene. I like the red barn against the snow. Very nice sharp lines. TFS

Hi Tom,
Beautiful shot about this moderm barn, but I'm sure, I prefer yours olds barns that I saw in another pictures. So, I can understand thad the moderm world each day kills the others features. But, in general this picture is nice with good colors' saturation. Well done, Regards, Consuelo

Oh man, Tom,
I LIKE this one. Just FABULOUS .. what do you call?? Geometrics?? I call them lines and angles and this shot has them brilliantly. Perfect light and contrast (with that wonderful New England light) the colors are just awesome, wonderful composition to keep you looking at the shot, the snow in the FG looks like a wedding cake and great details. Man. That's all you ever need for a fantastic shot. Congratulations and stay warm up there,
Shelly

Hi Tom,
great winter shot. Nice sharpness and details. Crisp colour and fine detail.Very well composed,
Georg

Hi Tom,

First impression is that it is a little over sharpened, but the composition and colour are very attractive in this scene. The silo gives the vertical compo and the red paint of the shed brightens the scene with colour like how this colour is contained within the purity of the snow. The background Mountains improve the depth of field nicely. I like your 3D shadowed frame, very effective!

Matt

Hi Tom,
the red parts of the barn is a nice strong detail, the barn looks very interesting from this POV, the background- the hills give to it a nice scene, the vivid blue sky is also a nice part.
Have a nice day.
Evangelos

Hello Tom,
A nice capture of this barn, whose red paint contrasts well with the surrounding snow. The roof line of the barn and the silos seem to echo the mountains behind. Very good colours and clarity.

Hi Tom
quel beau décor entoure cette ferme, de toute beauté, le rouge du bâtiment ressort bien, belle luminosité.
Amitiés
Jean-Pierre

I liked the contrast of the red barn on the white snow and blue sky. It's a wonderful shot.
Best wishes,
Achim

Tom,
another freezing moment that captured here. The landscape is quite soft and I can imagine how much you were trembling to get it :-)
I'm still at work, but in about 3 hours, back home I will post my shot taken at the same day with a huge contrast to yours, although the white dominant color will be the same.
Peter

Hello tom,
Very nice winter scene, beautiful colors and contrast, very good composition and point of view.

You have arrived ... I saw your note :) What a beautiful corner to build a farm and I guess many of our farmers would love to share this piece of land. I once had a dancing class and my dancing partner was a farmer and he was always talking about going to the States or to Canada and in fact, if you fly over to Montreal, you have a lot of Swiss visiting their relatives and you might see here and there a Swiss flag on a farm house when driving to the VT border. I like the grass sticking out of the snow and I guess VT does not get a whole lot of snow but it stays long with the cold weather. The red color of the farm is really something. What a treat, thanks for driving all the way to VT! Barbara.

Hello Tom!
Nice composition and very good point of view!
Beautiful colours and light and lovely point of view!
Best regards!
Lili

Hi tom,
A very attractive rural farm image with strong diagonal lines created with the higher point being the silo extending to lower hills on the left. Very well saturated colors and excellent sharpness. Fine shot and a nice addition to your barn collection. TFS. Gerald

The red barn stands out well here. The snow is a little gray. Ithink it could use another .5 to 1 stop exposure. Nevertheless the scene is very pleasing.

Good morning Tom!
Very picturesque winter scenery from Pawlett. Fantastic view at the barn and mountains in the background. The red walls of the barn are contrasting very nicely with the colours of the snow. Thanks for sharing
