There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees

Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long

but in the long run

The piper's calling you to join him

This view is from the other side of the bridge from yesterday's post of the Poultney River Gorge. When I was about 15 I spent a week about 1/4 mile down the river. We had a game called "apple chucking" where you would take a wild apple and spear it with a long stick then take a running start and launch the apple off the stick it would travel about 100 yards. Well we were having all kinds of fun when a farmer from the other side of the river showed up and said to my friend’s uncle "do something about these kids or I will, they should be working instead of hitting me and my cows with those damn apples." I guess he caught one right in the kisser.

It is amazing to see all this lush greenery along the rocky river banks!
Interesting also to see the efforts made to create access along the steep sides...
A peaceful place, where the sky reflects nicely in the calm river!

I find this picture better than you previous, the river lead us very depth in the forest, this gives nice perspective, the stair is very nice between the green environment, splendid com^position too. TFS.

Lovely composition Tom with good colour.
The reflections are beautiful.Those steps look a bit precarious?

The vertical format works especially well here with the calm, flat reflecting river and the steep steps beside the river. The colors are wonderful and the story even better. Hope the weather has surprised you and you'rwe having a great time as well.
