Photographer’s Note
Odd as this title is it fits. The concrete wall on the left is the remains of a post WW2 structure that has been abandoned and has fallen into complete ruin. The bridge is the Paper Mill Bridge in Bennington, Vermont and it has been restored with TLC and the master bridge builder's expertise.
There was no vantage point to see more of the bridge and each time I try to shoot one of these beauties I gain greater respect for Tom O'Donnell's skill in how he photographs them so very well. Tom, this ones for you.

Hello Greg,
I think you've done a wonderful job with this bridge. The horizontal lines in this photo are so clean, and they cut across the frame beautifully. I like the parallel lines of both the bridge and the small waterfall below it. The red color also contrasts the natural colors of the plants and water very well.

I always enjoy Tom's bridges as well, but I think you've done equally well here. The tree in the fg adds to the depth, and the colors and pov are very good. Nice work!! TFS

Hi Greg,
I think you have found a good POV(I do not know Tom O'Donnell's photos). Nice waterfall and this red bridge above it looks fabulous. I have never seen a bridge like this. This type reminds me always the movies with Meryl Streep even if it looks a bit differently.

Hello Greg! Vermont and its bridges, and what a nice way to make a connection to Tom. I always compare my photos to others but we all see it with our own eyes and the little nuances make this website work ... Such a beautiful bridge and I like how you included the plants in your foreground ... the green famous side of Vermont, a lovely spring picture indeed. Best regards from Colorado ... (not as green, we are where the mountains hit the desert so it is more towards the brown side ...) ... Barbara.

Hi Greg,
It may not be a real vantage point, but it's a very good one, despite not allowing a complete view of teh bridge. The bushes make a really nice framing to the river and the bridge, whose red makes a wonderful contrasts with the rest. A good light management seems very important here, as I don't think that the photo was so attractive with the plants on the BG much darker.

José

Hi Greg,
This is a really unique POV that you must have risked a sprained ankle to gain.
I love the rich colors and clear view of the falls.
Did you go down the road to the about 3/4 of a mile to the the Burt Bridge?
Regards, Tom

Hi Greg,
As you said, it is not easy. Sometimes when I look at someone else photo and think "I can do that too" but when I'm actually there and I struggle to find the right POV and it can be very frustating when you have such beautiful subject and you can't seem to give it justice. Well anyway, I thing you did great here, I like the composition and the layers of elements provide depth of the landscape. The color of the bridge is really rich in tone and natural. The texture of the wood is well depicted and the energy and movemenr of water cascade is also well captured. I really enjoyed it.
Thansk Greg.

This architecture with the pure lines crosses nature with elegance. The forms and colors are integrated into the river and the trees. The concrete of left is skilfully placed and does not harm. cheer.

Hello Greg,
This, very much like Tom's shots of covered bridges, is destined to become a minor masterpiece. The colors and resolution are flawless, as is the composition. The horizontal red band across the frame created by the side of the bridge makes a dramatic statement. Well done!
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Greg,
This seems to be a very well maintained covered bridge!
i didn't know so much about these structures until they started turn up in TE, but later I have found out we have a couple here in Norway too...
Interesting point of view as the water running over the dam adds some life to the scene, rich colour palette!

Hello Greg,
interesting view of nature with the red bridge which at my first view seemed to me as a thing which could not be there. But then I thought that without the red bridge the picture wouldn't be so good.TFS.

ciao Greg,
la linea rossa del ponte che taglia lo scatto e viaggia in parallelo con il bordo della piccola cascata conferisce ordine e dinamicità allo scatto.
Bello nei colori e nell'inquadratura

Greg,
This is a well composed shot of this fine covered bridge. The trees frame the bridge nicely helping to focus our attention on the bridge and falls. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The river leads the eye into the scene nicely.

Asa
