Photographer’s Note

Could not resist returning to this old mill for another shot.
The stone building is the former blacksmith shop of Stephen Whipple built in 1823.
This smitty used water power to help manufacture farm implements and decorative gates and fences.
All the mills of the day were built of similar stone construction because of the danger of fire from the machinery sparks.
