Photographer’s Note

While on a trip to Vermont a few weeks ago, the snow was deep and beautiful. After a fresh coating making the depth around 4 to 5 feet, I caught this one while I was in the car with my daughter on her way to work. Did a bit of cloning to remove the road in front of the barn.

A postcard you are showing us today.
Well composed and the grayish tone of the overcast day suits the place very well in giving a cosy mood,like getting under a blanket in front of a fire.

Hi Donna,
Well composed with just the right proportion of foreground in front of the old barn. I like the classic look here, indeed it is timeless. The trees on either side balance the frame and the view of the white house on the right enhances. You controlled the exposure level well and one can appreciate the texture of the snow. Well done.

Hello Donna,
That is a big impressive barn!
I notice the towers, some Norwegian barns have towers with bells, used to call the workforce in the fields for meals...
The muted colours adds a typical atmosphere of an overcast winter day!
