Photographer’s Note

There is a trail in Stowe which winter, spring, summer fall is just the nicest spot. Its a 5 mile trip one way and no matter what time of day you see people walking, running, biking, roller blading you name it. The path is nicely paved with markers to tell you how far you've been, crosses many spots in stowe so that you can get off the trail and go visit some of the nice resturants and shops along the way. Its a beautiful place to walk your dog too! This photo was taken just as I started one of my many walks along the path. It was a cloudy cold day but the sun was just around the corner!

Nice winter scene! The snow on the trees and grass gives this a postcard look, but what I like the most is the road. The way the road curves through the frame is very attractive, and it helps to pull us right into the scene. Well done!

great use of the road here weaving through the frame and then disappearing around the corner. The trees seem to embrace the shot.

Hello Donna,

There is always a certain charm in roads fading away around a bend, yours has the extra dimension of an s- pattern. Moreover, the snow that has melted on the roadway delineates the road, adding that contrast. Wonderful shot, nicely conceived, beatifully executed. Regards from Virginia, Bulent

Nicely composed, Donna, it's a beautifully place "S" curve (OK, backwards "S".) It's almost two scenes--a wintry one in the foreground, and a fall one in the distance. Perfect to commemorate the change of seasons. Regards, Ken.

Hello Donna ... as I can see winter has arrived in Vermont ... this is such a lovely atmosphere in your photo, the tiny bit of snow just covering the earth a little, not yet winter, not fall anymore. Hi Donna,
It is a beautiful winter image, though it is taken in November.
The curves of the sinuous road that is going to hide behind the trees, with the snow that surrounds it, have a beautiful graphism, and it is curious to see that the fields and forests of background do not have snow, probably for effect of the action of the Sun.
Fantastic picture, I add it to my favorites.

I am a sucker for winding path and road shots .. and I love the colors .. but strangely maybe the thing that draws me the most is the grass peaking through the snow .. I have always thought this as an element that typically ruined my winter shots and here you have made it so wonderful.

A lovely scene, the winding road taking us through the image works well in the composition. Nice and sharp showing all the nice textures. Colours in the background stand out well against the almost monochromatic forground.

One of my favourites, a winding road!
I have used that theme myself several times lately...
Here you do very well, making us wonder what is around the bend..?
The snow in combination with the autumn colours create a setting very typical of the season, well done!

I love this one Donna. I hope you don't mind me mentioning it, but it is so much sharper than some of your other shots. The light dusting of snow adds a beautiful appeal to the green and gold landscape. The use of the road as lead-in works very well. Very good work.

There's a path like this around Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie, Ontario too.
This one is wonderfully photographed. The S-bend is perfect for drawing the eye around the image.
Nice colours too.

Very nice curve of the road, leading to the opening in the trees and the landscape behyond. There is a nice contrast between the frost covered foreground and the more colored background.
