Photographer’s Note

The white, black, gray, and blue are all there is to view this time of year. The snow is very deep, one step into about 2' of it kept me along the edge. Kinda a fine backdrop for the long shadows of the tree branches, yes? That's New York State across the lake.

I agree with you: we are all waiting for a little of that warmth!
Nonetheless, I do love the blues of this, in sky, the mountains, the ice and the shadows: Great image

Hello Kathy,
Nice shades of blue. I really like the clever composition here. It's just the tree trunk, and you see the rest of it as a shadow. Well done.

Hello Kathy,

The lengths of the shadows seem to be inversely proportional to the lengths of the days this time of year. The composition, colors and exposure are all clues to an excellent shot.
