Photographer’s Note
Avene and Zmey and I had a great time on the Rhode Island / Massachusetts coast line a couple of weeks back, some of the shot are already posted here on TE. While we were at Sakonnet Light this one was shot in the opposite direction; like most coastal areas it was a subject rich environment and limited only by our imaginations..

hi Greg,
perfect timing for this shot, looks as if the bird hasn't decided yet whether to walk or to fly, and interesting symmetry between the V-shape of the wings and its legs. but what I like most is the colours of the water, I'll have to try and find some of that in my photos from that day :)
with best regards,

WOW! This is really great Greg! Perfect timing!! The colors are really super here, the water and the rock. Very nice lighting, I like the shadow of the bird. Very good detail of the gull! An excellent picture in my opinion! TFS and have a great weekend.

Hi Greg,
Great capture of this simple moment by the sea. Your gull is caught in perfect symmetry and is surrounded by brilliant colors and sharp salty details. Wonderful coastal image that I'm glad you have shared.

Hi Greg,
terrific moment you chose for shooting! The sharpness and the pleasing background blur are so much attractive! The green line of the sea is beautiful, too.

Hi Greg. It pays to have eye in the back of your head so you don’t miss a shot! One of the hardest shots to get well is the “bird in flight” shot, but you have captured this one well. Good colours and sharpness where its important. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hello Greg,
times of seagulls this one, eh?
Fortunate shot, with the bird starting to take off, but also a very good composition that leave the rock at the left and enough space at the right which is the direction in which the bird is pointing. Colours and saturation are perfect as in all your photos. Very pleasurable.

Hello Greg,
You shot this just at the right moment!
The wings are raised and the landing gear is just about to be raised.
Lovely off-centre composition!
I particularly like how the light is highlighting the bird's head and neck and creating a lovely shadow on the rock.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Greg,
the subject rich environment certainly gave you here an unlimited amount of possibilities to your imaginations. Very sharp in its details were I can even see the red dot on the beak despite the distance. The moment freezing the gull at the time of take off is a great one although I guess that having the bird completely either above or below the horizon would have made it a even stronger composition. Latter would be my favorite option.

Hi Greg,
Perfect timing to catch this seagul flying. The light and colors are good, just a little too much space on the left side, a croping would put your subject more in evidence.

Flavia

Hi Greg,
great timing and excellent contrast between sharp fore and blurred background. The colors deserve an extra smiley, if you ask me. Very good job!
Hell, after having mum & sister visiting over here I went through almost 2 weeks of heavy overtime on my work to catch up with stuff, hence my silence. I'm fine now and back on schedule, so I'll check out little by little what else you posted lately.
Meanwhile : have a great day, I'll see you soon.

Hi Greg,
A simple but beautiful nature shot. Perfect timing and DOF, great POV , clarity and colours! Well seen that "like most coastal areas it was a subject rich environment and limited only by our imaginations"! As a matter of fact that applies not only to coastal areas.

Good evening Greg,
Your image is of a great purity. There is nothing in excess. The aesthetic rock, like point of take-off, and the bird on which all the attention is focused are clear, whereas the blur of the sea contributes to isolate the center of interest. The light is excellent as are the colors. It is a beautiful very pleasant image, which one can
look without wearying itself.
Good night
Cordially
