Photographer’s Note

This lonely house is built on a island in Narragansett Bay, close to Newport and Jamestown. It's electricity comes from the electric windmill that you can see on the roof. You can actually rent this house. Must be a bit humid and quiet...

In the background you can see a portion of the Claiborne Pell (Newport) Bridge. Here are some details of this suspended bridge.

Construction started: April 5, 1966
Opened to traffic: June 28, 1969
Length, anchorage to anchorage: 2,975 feet, 6 inches
Steel used in suspended structure: 23,280 tons
Total length of wires: 8,000 miles
Cost of original structure: $61,000,000

Nice shot.. Interesting subject. Well composed with good handle of light and good mix of colours with the white bridge in the BG.

Hi Paul. Nice afternoon light you got to accentuate the details of this scene that features the interesting contrast between the old and new subjects. Nice vivid seaside colors with some other details like the sailboats well included. The horizon is leaning to the right though ...

Great work,nice the bridge is in the bacground with your very good useful note about that,well controlled the light and a nice colors and contrast you had here,great details and depth,I enjoy it,....

Well ot be honest I wold not have a good day if I had to pay for that house. I like friends to come over too. But I have to say you sure have alot of info on this house. Did you have a hand in building this? Very good photo showing the bridge in the background.

Hi Paul, An impressive shot of the impressive island. The price tag to this island is stunning. Considering you'll have the entire island for the building, it is well worth the price :D.

C'est génial !
Le pdv est chouette avec ce pont qui traverse l'image en arrière-plan.
J'aime bien cette lumière qui vient faire claquer ce flanc gauche.
Superbes teintes avec une eau bleu foncàe qui est du plus bel effet.

Assez particulier comme demeure Paul, une très belle perspective, un peu plus et l'on croyait que le pont passait dans la court !! Photo très intéressante et bien cadré, belle trouvaille, à bientôt.

I should be deducting points for getting that song stuck in my head! (Title)... haha.
An interesting looking home. Not too sure if I'd be happy living there though. Looks to be a relatively small sized property.
You captured the image well. Nice and sharp with good tonal levels (nothing under/over exposed).
My only suggestion would be a very SLIGHT ccw horizon correction. A small detail on an otherwise good shot.
