Photographer’s Note
Another one from our hike on the Loyalsock Trail near Montoursville. (Please see my previous post, "Loyalsock Trail", for more information about the area.) The arrow is there to mark a carriage trail (for horse riding) that crosses the LT. I thought it looked a bit like inspirational clip art ;)
I played with this one in PhotoFiltre. Any advice on how to reduce the white-out, especially near the bottom right, where it distorts the tree bark?

Hi Whitney,
Not sure why no one left an answer to your question - I would use the Shadow and Highlight tool in Photoshop to adjust that, sometimes you can get it with levels, but I find the shadow & highlight tool provides a little closer control of that sort of brightness.
I think this image is pretty clever, myself. I like your comment "inspirational clip art" a great deal, too!
Have a good one!

Hi,
Don't know the answer to your question. The photo does seems to have some deterioration near the sides, but I really like the colors and the frame. The POV is what really makes this photo as it gives on the feeling of a sunny day. Nicely done!
Sincerely,
Kate

Hi Whitney,
very nice composition, and really funny title.
I like that.
I think there is not much you can do.
I believe you should certainly think about it in advance because once it is recorded it is too late.
One of the recent options for the shots against the sun is HDR, it may help in some cases but you cannot exaggerate and you cannot make miracles.
For example look at my shot against the sun here. I still tried to hide the sun as much as possible.
Also the neutral density filter especially graduated may be of help for some situations but not in this case.
I believe you should just try to hide the sun behind something even more.
But I am beginner too so may be I don't know about something.
Regards,
M
PS
I just have noticed I cannot give away smileys anymore because I crossed my limit for today, I am sorry...
