Photographer’s Note
These re-enactors are portraying the 4th NJ Volunteers at an event at Washington Crossing Park in Pennsylvania. The 4th NJ were Loyalists, meaning they sided with the British during the American Revolution.
In the 1700’s many of the colonists were divided between remaining under British rule or becoming independent. Families were divided over which side to be on. Benjamin Franklin’s family was one that was divided in its sentiments. Benjamin wanted independence and spent much of the latter years of his life in Europe trying to gain support for the American cause. Benjamin's son, on the other hand, was governor of New Jersey and an ardent supporter of King George III.
These men were engaged in a battle drill with muskets when the photo was taken. The 4th NJ Volunteers are dressed in green coats and their British allies, the 22nd Regiment of Foot are dressed in red coats.

Wow! Here it is the staff! You have received a smoke in the photo which has not had time to dissipate after a shot. It is excellent! It is really perfectly made. Both very good paints and contrast.
