Photographer’s Note

These fine young ladies are residents of the Thompson-Neeley House Historic Site in Washington Crossing, PA. Washington Crossing Park is divided into two sections: the Lower Section, which is where the actual crossing of the Continental Army took place in December 1776 and the Upper Section, which is where the Thompson-Neeley House is located.

It has been rumored that Washington and his staff met at this house to plan the crossing of the Delaware River at this house. The resulting surprise attack on the Hessian troops stationed at Trenton, NJ was a key turning point in the war for America’s independence.

The house is open to the public for tours and the site is often the location of re-enactments and other events throughout the year. One such event is scheduled to take place in April and will include things such as sheep shearing, and demonstrations of spinning & weaving, colonial laundering, cheese making, and cooking.

I took several photos of the ladies that day and I wasn’t sure which one to post, so I am posting the second one in a workshop.
