Photographer’s Note
Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve is a botanical collection of Pennsylvania native plants in a naturalistic setting. Over two dozen trails lead you through woodlands and meadows showcasing more than 1,000 species of plants specifically native to Pennsylvania. The preserve is open year-round.
The preserve was founded in 1934 when 100 acres of land were set aside by the Washington Crossing Park Commission as a living memorial to the men of George Washington’s Army who camped in the area in 1776 during the American Revolutionary War. Through the years, the Preserve has become acknowledged as the State Wildflower Preserve of Pennsylvania.
The bridge in the photo is probably one the most photographed bridges in the state of Pennsylvania. It was built in 1938 as part of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) program. Around that time America was in the midst of an economic depression and this was part of a program set up by then-president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt as a means of building up the economy again.
The body of water in the foreground is called Pidcock Creek and was named for an early settler of Bucks County.

Very nice shot. I think the wide/low format fits very well the scenery, giving extra attention to the ice. I also got the feeling of a Winter-wanted-to-become-Spring in spite of the ice, I mean... We have that here in the Netherlands, begin of February, feeling the sun wanting to get warmer, the air getting smells of fresh new life...

You have captured a lovely feeling of serenity as the ice breaks in the February sun. Very nicely done. Good clean stitching, too.

Another serene winter scene, Linda. I like how the patches of ice on Pidcock Creek appear to be broken up by the sun and open up for some nice reflections, and how the creek leads the view towards the bridge. Good light. Very good stitching work, and at the danger of sounding like a broken record: yes, another excellent note.

Good Linda! The old bridge looks interesting, would you mind to go near it next time please?

A good shooting position to bring up the ice in the water. Well done Linda.

Géniale ....
La luminosité de l'image me plait bien et le pont attire mon attention en me laissant guidé par la rivière.
Les bloque de glace montre bien la région froide dans laquelle vous vivez en ce moment.
Merci du partage Linda

Hi Linda. You have done a great job of stitching these photos together, and the picture is lovely! I loove winter scenes, and especially the breaking up of ice. I used to watch the huge slabs of ice falling over Niagara Falls years ago when I ived in that area. Your note is excellent. Good job!

Linda,
I really like the image...very well done. You can see a little bit of the stitching on the right side...it's still well done. I really like it. I'll post a workshop tomorrow with a bit of sharpening and color. Do you use a UV filter? On shots like this it would really make a big difference. I like the note as well. Nice job.
