Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken at Washington Crossing, PA. In the 1700's this little village was known as McConkey's Ferry. It is where Gen. George Washington crossed the Delaware River with the Continental Army into New Jersey on Christmas Day. From there they marched into Trenton where they surprised the British and Hessian troops.
The day I was at the park, these two little boys wearing authentic clothing of the era, were marching around in a tight formation. Both are Revolutionary War re-enactors and enjoy visiting historical sites such as this one. I could think of worse ways they could be spending a loveley Sunday afternoon. ;-)
I tried to give an "old" feeling to the photo by doing some minor editing in Photoshop Elements: I added a sepia filter and some grain.

Nice idea, well framed. But something just misses. Perhaps the low contrast, and lack of sharpness detract too much.
The grain is a good idea - what does it look like with a heavier grain, blurred down?

I like this shot, I can almost hear Rolf Harris singing 'two little boys' in the background, sepia works very well, and I like the general 'flatness' of the image, very good composition too.

Interesting subjects. Wish you had taken the shot just a little bit later and from a bit lower angle so that they were more in front of the house.
I've posted a Workshop in which I cropped, increased contrast and did a little detail work - for your consideration.

the sepia filter has done its work very well ,
I think there is no more left to do ,
but, mayB by omitting the upper part of the house ( the windows) ,the composition becomes even stronger....

A nice historic feeling of the photo. I like both your and BobTrips version of this photo. They are nice in different ways. Good work.
