Rubber Duck refers to any one of several giant floating sculptures designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. Mr. Hofman's aim in creating this project was to entertain the world by a tour named "Spreading Joy around the World" starting in 2007. His goal was to recall everyone's childhood memories by exhibiting the Duck in 14 cities, starting in his own Amsterdam, Netherlands. Each city would get its own duck. These are built in various sizes, including one created in 2007 that is the largest rubber duck in the world, measuring 26×20×32 meters and weighing over 600 kg. This giant rubber duck was constructed with more than 200 pieces of PVC. It had an opening at the back of the body so that a body check of the rubber duck could be performed easily. In addition, it has an electric fan in its body so that it can be inflated at any time, in either good or bad weather.
The following are locations of each Duck in order of date:
Taoyuan , Taiwan, October, 26 2013
Kaohsiung, Taiwan, September 2013
Baku, Azerbaijan, September 2013
Beijing, China, September 2013
Pittsburgh, United States, Sept. 27 - Oct. 20 2013
Hong Kong SAR, China, May 2013
Sydney, Australia, January 2013
Hasselt, Belgium, July 2012
Onomichi, Japan, 2012
Auckland, New Zealand, February 2011
Osaka, Japan, December 2010
São Paulo, Brazil, 2008
Saint-Nazaire, France, 2007
The fun in Pittsburgh began yesterday at a remote part of the Alcosan property on the Ohio River, where the Rubber Duck was inflated. It was then towed on a pontoon from the West End up the Ohio River and the Allegheny River, where it was temporarily moored near the Roberto Clemente Bridge, the site of the Rubber Duck Bridge Party, until 10 p.m. The span was closed to traffic until midnight. After last night's festivities, the duck was moored on the Allegheny near the Point where it will stay through Oct. 20.
I was at Point State Park this afternoon where the crowds were enjoying the Duck's first day at its home. I have taken several photos of the gigantic bathtub toy but I chose this one to upload because it displays the Duck and the crowds around it partially veiled by the Point State Park Fountain, making it look like the duck is floating in the reflection pool.
Her şehrin kendi ördeği olacaktı.
Taoyuan, Tayvan, Ekim 26 2013
Kaohsiung, Tayvan, Eylül 2013
Baku, Azerbaycan, Eylül 2013
Pekin, Çin, Eylül 2013
Pittsburgh, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, 27 Eylül - 20 Ekim 2013
Hong Kong, Çin, May 2013
Sidney, Avustralya Ocak 2013
Hasselt, Belçika Temmuz 2012
Onomichi, Japonya 2012
Auckland, Yeni Zelanda Şubat 2011
Osaka, Japonya Aralık 2010
São Paulo, Brezilya 2008
Saint-Nazaire, Fransa 2007

Very unusual and amazing giant Duckie, and a glimpse of the viewers hidden within the mist.
Hopefully California will get one of Mr. Hofman's ducks.

couldn't help but stop by and take a look at this funny scene.
It would be almost impossible to keep walking by and not photograph it a few times.
It kind of has an almost sinister type of feel to it, with the large oversized rubber duck haunting the water ways :)
love seeing the Iconic Pittsburgh bridge in the bg too.

Kind of spooky a giant duck appearing out of the mist.
About to devour the people.
A bridge that disappears into the mist.

Youre capturing well this place by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the giant floating sculptures of Duck in which is set aside the river. I can see to see that residents gathering in here are enjoying this festival. It's also impressive in bridge and stadium in back, and the rainbow in the sky.

That's the way quack it' The stunning yellow has a punch cheery feel and connect the eyes while we get to enjoy the wonderful surrounding river scene and the mist at the same time and how well these are blended together. The interaction grabs attention and makes the flow work well making this shot. Good composition and nice timing to capture the happy mood, good tonal range and superb balance exposure, Well done, TFS

What do they feed them ducks on?
Nice fun shot of the giant rubber duck. Like the way you have captured the spray accentuating the rainbow and the way it shares the same arc as the bridge structure. The people in the shot really look as though they are having a really good time.

Super kitschy but very amusing! Good sharpness and strong warm cold color contrast between the yellow and blue. The people add scale. Lisa (delpeoples) posted an image of the duck when it visited Sydney, Australia. With the economy in such a mess Americans need something to cheer them up! Tfs!

Nobody better mess with that duck! :-) It might look cute when it's small and in your bathtub, but this one could do some serious damage! I really like the way it's coming out of the mist, with a lovely rainbow beside it. It was good to include the bridge and the tiny people out enjoying this unusual view, too.

Good afternoon Murat, no I didn't see Arthur in the nameplates, it's a common name in England, a name of king. you know that huge yellow duck is nice and scary as well, It reminds me nightmares..with the condensation of the water,
A brillant and skilled capture, all the best

you've created a surreal and intriguing composition from an effective point of view. I like very much the challenging and funny inversion of roles: the rubber duck really looks like floating in a giant bathtub and the people look like toys - maybe a scene from a nightmare:) I also marvel at how the rainbow continues the bow of the bridge across the frame. You've combined clarity, mist, bright colours and drama in a captivating way. A special picture, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

I remember some photos of the other one in Australia, but I've never seen one. I like this composition, with the duck partially hidden by the fountain and water. The rainbow is a really good detail!
