Photographer’s Note

The Schuylkill River was named by the dutch settlers of the area, meaning "hidden river".

Today, it is the location of Boathouse Row, a landmark set of boathouse facilities in Fairmount Park, that houses several local college-affiliated or independent crew teams.

Great shot Andre;

Amazing detail, and a great DOF. She almost looks miniature next to the massive bridge.

great colors and a complimentary plane border.

The shallow depth of field really makes the rower stand out nicely, but still allows us to see the background well enough. The warm light on the bridge, and on her, is very beautiful. Great capture.

5D + 70-200 f/2.8 IS, t'as un de ces matos, toi... (envieux inside, surtout pour le caillou !)
Ce que j'aime bien sur cette vue c'est le rendu du bateau et de la rameuse, il y a de la lumiere qui tombe dessus et ca le fait tres bien ressortir, surtout sur l'avant blanc. Ta mise au point est impeccable. Je ne suis pas trop enthousiasme par le cadrage en general mais je ne saurais pas trop te dire pourquoi, peut etre un angle un peu plat et pas assez rentrant. C'est une bonne photo mais pas celle que je prefere dans ta galerie.

The arches gives a good perspective to the lone rower. I would have prefered if the arches could have been a little more clearer.

This is a great shot, I love the warm lights, excellent composition! the focus on the rower is perfect, and a slight OOF background adds depth. Good vertical framing.

On sent la dame toute petite devant ce pont grâce au point de vue bas choisi.
