Photographer’s Note
This is Philadelphia Cold Storage at 500 North Columbus Boulevard, near Penn's Landing. The building appears to have historical significance but thus far I'm having no luck finding information about it.
Since I acquired PhotoImpact software I've been primarily learning and using that to adjust my images in post. However, I still find Picasa a useful tool for basic file management and viewing/browsing of all my photos. I also find it easier/more intuitive to shrink files in Picasa when you're going for number of pixels as opposed to file size. If you're going for file size, then PhotoImpact is better, although I've discovered it often under-estimates the resulting file size.
So even though the photo info says I used Picasa to work with this image in post, I actually used PhotoImpact for 99% of it. I cropped the original, added some saturation, and bumped up the shadows just a little. My goal, as with all my photos thus far, was to make the image as close as possible to what I saw that day.

I really like the POV and the name. Yes, I can see the three eyes. Your POV really brings out that aspect of the photo along with the nice lines you've gotten. This building is definitely more interesting tilted.
Sincerely,
Kate

Hi Rachel,
Just like tall people, fitting a smokestack into the frame requires bending.
Good angle and interesting structure.
I would guess if the building was built before electricity generated refrigeration, that huge blocks of ice were used to keep food stored and cold?
Anyway, have fun and enjoy,
Ray

Excellent work, dear Rachel, with a pleasant definition of the details thanks to the perfect sharp. Very interesting the diagonal perspective that increases the artistic value of the image. About the softwares of PP, is very difficult that an only software can be enough to all of our demands, also me, over that to PhotoImpact, use other programs of PP. Don't exist a program that it's best in absolute in comparison to the others. However this photo is really good, you have done an excellent composition! Compliments!
Ciao, have a nice time!
