Last Thursday, on the way back from my allergy shots, I stopped at the Big Rock Park in New Brighton, which is a thin strip sandwiched between the railroad tracks and the Beaver River. I did not know what to expect in the way of parking within the park. So I parked on the corner of 2nd Ave. and 8th St. and walked into the park through the railroad underpass. I found out that there was plenty of parking on the other side of the tracks. On the way back, regretted that I had to walk under such a dilapidated structure to get to my car. However, something compelled me to take a photo of the underpass. After I came home and adjusted some settings on this photo, I found something irresistible about it. I cannot put my finger on it; it is just a photo of not so glamorous an underpass but the more I looked at it, the more I wanted to upload it to TE. So here it is, I hope you like it. And if you do, please tell me why I like it, too!

just love this kind of shots(and such deserted, looking quite dangerous subjects).
Without people it feels almost like the movie "I am the legend".You´ve coped really well with the light here to create so unique mood of the scene.
Have a nice day

Not everything we see in our daily-life is a perfect scenery, Murat, and by this simple shot - you prove there is light at the end of any tunnel...
I wonder that the place not covered with more graffiti, or maybe it was recently cleaned.
Clarity and depth well collected.

You're capturing well the underpass by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the underpass with puddle and scribble in simple stone structure. It looks like the underground moat. It's also impressive in the scattered garbage pf both ends and a loose slope.

I like this picture and I'll try to explain why, maybe among mine you'll discern some of your reasons too:) I like the long, upward perspective and the way it's enriched by lighting variations and details. The diversity of levels between entrance and exit, the fact that we don't know which is which, the luminous but blank opening of the tunnel, the rugged textures, the play of light and shadows that creates a sense of movement, the dark pastel tones that look surprising in a place like this, the feeling that above the underpass it's a moody autumn day. You must have more resons because you've been actually there and the picture reminds you of an instinctive response to a visual stimulus and of a creative moment. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,
PS No, the cloud of my previous picture is not the one I chased. It's one I just found there two days after the boat and cloud photo:)

What I like in your capture is the natural frames given by the arcs, the not perfect asphalt with puddles and the white light at the back, as a kind of poetic way to get out
Thanks for a creative shot

At first its hard to see much attractive about this shot but the longer you look at it the more it catches the eye. The light coming into the tunnel from different directions gives a range of tones on the wall and the perspective emphasises the rise of the road towards the light at the end of the tunnel. The desertedness of the scene adds a certain atmosphere .
