We are continuing with our exterior tour of Fallingwater today. A few meters below the terrace where the couple of Senede Bir Gün were sitting is the statue Mother and Child (Mother and Babe) by the cubist sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. Lipchitz conceived it in Paris in 1939 and it was cast in bronze in New York in 1941. The Kaufmanns purchased it the following year and installed it on the rim of the plunge pool in the streambed alongside the house. On August 5, 1956, it was carried off by the once-a-century floodwaters of Bear Run. It was recovered and repaired by Lipchitz himself. Architect Frank Lloyd Wright had originally placed it facing the house. Upon its return from Lipchitz' studios, it was reoriented to face the stream.
Ana ve Bebe
Bugün Fallingwaterın (Düşensuyun) dış turumuza devam ediyoruz. Senede Bir Gün çiftinin oturduğu terasın birkaç metre altında kübist heykeltıraş Jacques Lipchitz tarafından Anne ve Çocuk (Anne ve Bebe) heykeli bulunmaktadır. Lipchitz onu 1939 yılında Paris'te tasarlanmış ve 1941 yılında New York'ta bronz olarak dökülmüştür. Kaufmannlar bunu ertesi yıl satın aldılar ve evin yanındaki dere içindeki dalma havuzu kenarına yerleştirdiler. 5 Ağustos 1956 tarihinde, Bear Runın (Ayı Koşusunun) yüzyılda bir kez sel suları tarafından alınıp götürüldü. Bulundu ve Lipchitzin kendisi tarafından onarıldı. Mimar Frank Lloyd Wright başlangıçta eve doğru koymuştu. Lipchitzin stüdyolardan geri dönünce, dereye doğru döndürüldü.

Artworks must be look on two ways, first the statue as subject, two the environment where the statue is located.
Both subjects are here wonderful present.
Splendid picture with a very well quality.
Sharpness and clarity are perfect.
Very well done, TFS.

the sculpture is striking and captivating, you've placed it very well in the frame. The open arms look so dramatic and their dynamism dominates the frame. A very interesting detail, its presence in the garden must stun the people walking by and make them stop to observe it and think about the feelings and values it represents. The moody colours are lovely but maybe a little too bright compromising the contrast and depth a little. I like this evocative image and am looking forward to seeing as much of this place as possible. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

The blue of the sculpture and the yellow green of the foliage set up a superb warm cold color contrast. Good tight framing and sharpnes with smart use of a shallow dof. I may have gone in even tighter. Looks almost Native American Indian in design even though it's not. Have a great weekend!

You're capturing well this sculpture by a good composition and excellent tone, so it's interesting and impressive to see the sculpture "Mother and Babe" which is put to face the stream. I looks like to show a permanent love of mother and child by abstract method. And, I can see the autumnal tints around this sculpture.

As you know, I am concentrating my studies here on fotos of sculptures. Here, I admire your treatment of two challenges that are present in nearly every attempt -- the setting of the sculpture and the photographer's access to it.
I can imagine that one is not allowed to roam at will on the grounds of Falling Water, so you have found a good POV and capitalized on it. The other challenge is context, and we can work with it or against it. Here, I see you have worked WITH the context and created an inspiring scene for the Lipchitz work.
Well done, sir!

nice view of the sculpture with good light and resolution. I liked the framing positioning the sculpture and the background with those strips of stone. nice job.
