Beaver Falls, home to Geneva College where I teach, is located 31 miles (50 km) northwest of Pittsburgh, and on the Beaver River, six miles (9 km) from its confluence with the Ohio River. It was originally called Brighton and was chartered as a borough in 1868. It adopted the commission form of government in 1913. In its heyday, travelers would often stop in Beaver Falls while traversing Western Pennsylvania, since there were many modes of transportation through the area (railroad, highway, canal). The city was also linked to Ellwood City in 1914 by the Pittsburgh, Harmony, Butler and New Castle Railway, an interurban trolley line. The line closed on 15 June 1931. The city is best known in fiction as the setting of the television situation comedy Mr. Belvedere. The city saw a population decrease of almost 50 % between 1940 and 2000, a phenomenon attributed mostly to its central location in the Rust Belt. Several manufacturing plants provided significant employment for residents in the twentieth century. Like most rust belt cities, Beaver Falls has suffered a significant economic malaise due to the decline in the steel-making capacity in the region.
The weather today was so delightful that I decided to stroll outside the campus late afternoon and walked downtown. Right downhill from College Hill, I came across Blade's Rod Shop, which is classified as automobile restoration - antique & classic cars in the Yellow Pages. The store was closed, so there was no one to stop me from photographing their inventory.

Good evening, Murat,
The rusty cars is a special and very popular theme on the TE. And I like this picture too. Very attractive and picturesque composition, fine details.
I like an idea to use similar rusty trucks for the advertising photos of jeans, for example, in the numerous glamour magazines.

A very shrp photo over the junk-yard, filled with old rusty cars and some other elements. I see a good crank in orange tone, well in shape for immediate use...
well spotted. the old headlights of the left-side track shining under the bright daylight.
A nice one.

Now that is a place that Craig (mcjake) would love. So many rusty old cars in one place. It seems to be in at the moment here on TE to go our and look for these derelict witnesses of bygone times, I myself posted recently one such from Vancouver Island.
All that rusty scrap here is really attractive, I don't know what it is that renders that stuff so attracive in the first place.
I really like your note on Beaver Falls too, there is so much helpful information there.
have a great day

rust emporium - great title and a great place for photos!
I'm sure most people won't agree with us on that, but thats the truth! haha
love the vehicle on the left, and its surprising to see how clean and 'new' looking the headlights are.
lots to keep us interested here. well chosen subjects

I liked the color, the light and the sharpness of this image. the car at left is the most interesting element here and I would put it inside a vertical compo only. anyway your version is very interesting too.
