Manhattan.

A view of Manhattan from the Empire Fulton Ferry State Park - one of the many classic viewpoints in the city, and one of my favourites.

The incoming wave is the wake from a passing Circle Line ferry.

Black city, but also a photo with wonderful splashes of golden tones.

Hi Ben, love the strange variety of colours in that line of surf coupled with the band of gold running up the left side towards the flared sun. Black city, black water & black reflections - a fine combination.

Best regards, Roberto

Such a frequently-photographed POV requires doing something differerent from just snapping the obvious picture, and I think you've done that here with this stylized high-contrast take. I presume you darkened the silhouette of the buildings in PP, right? The water looks almost like oil, rather a cool effect, and the wave is well-timed. Regards, Ken.

Hi Ben,
Great title for this shot. Love the light on the water and the sun flare under the bridge. Simply a great urban shot with a nice twist.
Regards
Wanda

Classic but efficient Ben, I like the oily aspect of the water as well as the sun shining through the bridge. A moody urban shot.
Well done

Philippe

Hi Ben,
The view looks nice. The light shining into the frame from the left is quite overexposed and cathches the eye, is too far left and squeezed, the tower on the left is a little tilted towards the left, which could have been corrected and the space between the foamy wave and the silouettes seems to far apart to make a good composition. The sharpness of the silouettes though look nice and so do the use of light and, the details of the wave and the light shining on the wave.
Much potential though in this place.
Best regards. Salvator.
