Photographer's Note
The Cathedral of St. Patrick (commonly called St. Patrick's Cathedral) is a decorated Neo-Gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral church in the United States. It is the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, and a parish church, located on the east side of Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets in midtown Manhattan, New York City, New York, directly across the street from Rockefeller Center and specifically facing the Atlas statue.

Hello Lakshmi,
A good juxtaposition between the cathedral and skyscraper. I particularly like the play of light and shadow across the high rise and the reflections.

Hi Lakshmi, I also liked this view in New York. The area around Rockefeller Center with scating ring and St. Patrick Cathedral were my favorite places and I returned there a few times. Difficult to find a good POV among skyscrapers. I like this one. I was astonished to see in one of the back altars the image of our Black Madonna from Częstochowa. Have you noticed it?
Warm regrads

These two buildings are a landmark of NY and the strong contrast they make attracts our attention. You have framed them well, taking also the lovely reflections on the glasses.
Fine and interesting,

Namaste Lakshmi,
this one is a classic sight on Saint Patrick's Cathedral and the skyscraper that is to its side, in whose glass-front we can enjoy a few interesting reflections.
The perspective towards the sky is powerful, and is in this kind of low-angle shots in which we need a wider lens, in order of not to cut the tops of the buildings, because the 18mm it is a bit insufficient.
But the photo is very attractive, and offers us the great contrast of architectural styles that we can find in Manhattan.
A nice work.
Best regards,
Josep

lakshmi
very beutiful image, even the white sky didn't spoil the composition and its strange light. I liked these soft colors. I would prefer to cut something in the lower part, to concentrate attention in the more interesting part of the compo , anyway it is a nice job. TFS.

Due icone della 5th ...eppure di costruzione relativamente recente .
Una gara del mondano e del sacro verso l'alto.
La nota esaustiva ...il neo gotico ...riproposto ..tipico USA .

Hola Lakshmi,
I know perfectly well the corner from where you took this photo, there are usually people trying to capture the reflections you did so well and with a cloudy sky
Good to crop the low part usually plenty of people

Inspite of the cloudy day, the St.patric looks well in contrast to modern scraper on BG.
It's always a bit difficult to include the whole in those high rise edifices.
Nice idea, Ghotic details are marvelous.

Hi Lakshmi
That are the contrasts, old and new, but it is part of our lifestyle. Often the old is replaced by new, what not all the time is good, however here in South East Asia, many think that only the new is good. That are the differences between East and West as the West tries to preserve the past. Good documentary shot. Well done
Warm regards
Urs

Hi lakshmi. Old and new. An interesting juxtaposition. Churches were once the measure of all things, today there are the skyscrapers with the offices of the corporations. Well seen and presented. Rgds wolfgang.
