This beautiful building, designed by local architect Archimedes Russell, was built between 1904-07. This neo-classical style was popular for government buildings in the US between 1880 and 1920. This is the fourth county courthouse in Syracuse, an indication how fast the city grew in the 19th century. Syracuse was was incorporated in 1825 as a village, and become a city in 1847.

A very impressive building, and I like the two structures to each side of the main dome too, rather unusual but a lovely touch to the design. Very majestic and regal place, great capture. The people in the scene give great scale too, without the person at the bottom of the steps leading in, I would have thought this place was a little smaller.
All the best
