Photographer’s Note
This is the Aquatic Restoration project covered with snow at The Edith G. Read Sanctuary in Rye New York.
Edith Read Natural Park and Wildlife Sanctuary Wet Meadow
Freshwater Wetland Restoration
A wetland meadow was created as an outdoor classroom next to the nature center. The meadow was formed by creating a shallow basin with gently sloping sides and planting the excavated area with native plants, including swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), New England aster (Aster Novae-angliae), soft rush (Juncus effuses), and blue vervain (Verbena hastata). An impermeable membrane was installed underneath the deepest portion of the basin to slow water infiltration through the meadow. Wet meadows are excellent natural water filters that give many wildlife species a place to live and forage.
To View The Site: The site is at the Edith G. Read Natural Park and Wildlife Sanctuary in the City of Rye. To get to the sanctuary, enter through Playland Park and follow the signs to the sanctuary. Park at the nature center.

Hi Angela,
Nice winter shot, Light is not enough, good composition and frame, orange flags are strange elements on sides and they have somethig to say in this shot.

Hello Angela.
This is an elegant and simple picture with subtle light and variations in tone. I love the line of bare trees against the winter sky. Perhaps the snow is a little over-exposed, but I don't get to do much snow photography so I shouldn't complain; I think it must be difficult to capture the detail in all that whiteness. Interesting notes, thanks.

Hello Angela,
I like much this image, which symbolizes the winter and deadened nature. The branches underlined of white frost, on the gray sky, are superb. the red spots are more which attract the glance. Congratulations.
Have a nice sunday

Hi Angela,
Up here in the Capital District we got 13 inches and expect a bunch more today.
Love the use of the tall grass and fence as a devider between the fresh snow and stromy sky.

Hi, Angela. The dark trees and plants contrast well with the snow. The orange flags add some contrast and colours in the image. I like the opening left of the fence giving us a view of the landscape in the background.
Best wishes,
Philippe

Angela,
I agree with "mzmher", but that can be fixed.
I've picked this picture (you have one more after this one) mostly because of great composition. Nicely framed with good note and you got a great postcard.
Also I've enjoyed your TREKNATURE gallery.
Thanks!
