Today I want to show three photos from the Niagara Falls.
It was unforgotten trip, I can say, the Falls was just one of my 1000 dreams. Yes, I did it!
The Maid of the Mist is a boat tour of Niagara Falls. (The actual boats used are also named Maid of the Mist, followed by a different Roman numeral in each case.) The boat starts off at a calm part of the Niagara River, near the Rainbow Bridge, and takes its passengers past the American and Bridal Veil Falls, then into the dense mist of spray inside the curve of the Horseshoe Falls, also known as the Canadian Falls. The tour is available starting from either the Canadian or American side of the river, returning to the starting point in each case.

This is a set of three excellent photos. They are all interesting and well taken, but maybe this one makes the water and mist look the most impressive. The exposure is very good and I believe the light conditions were not entirely easy. You have hndled it very carefully.

bella foto con un punto di ripresa molto buono che rende molto bene l'imponenza delle cascate.
Eccellente la composizione che dà grande risalto alla cascata eliminando ogni elemento di disturbo.
Ciao e buona settimana

I too would love so much to see this place, and you have gotten a superb capture in your journey. The sense of power from the crashing water is very evident, as is the mist that makes these boats famous. Did you go on the boats? Did you get a free raincoat? :) Everytime I see those boats, everybody has the same color raincoats on.

un angle sympa pour ces celebres chutes....
l'appareil n'a pas été trop mouillé?

Nice to see almost water level view of the fall. I don't remember I've seen such before. From this angle you really feel the power of water. Backlight makes a good contrasty shot.

Believe it or not, I've never been there. Wow, the water falls is so magnificent. I heard, it is best viewed from Canada side.

Powerful up close view of the iconic Niagara Falls, with mass mist everywhere, enhanced by the sharp light contrast.
Hopefully you had a zoom lens to avoid getting your camera wet?

Your photo really captures the power of the falls. I like the way the shine is shining on the heavy mist. The WS photos are also very nice. I remember visiting the falls during October. It was already very chilly, and we were hit by small pieces of ice on the Maid of the Mist.

Every time I hear "Maid of the Mist" it reminds of the scene from Bruce Almighty when Jim Carrey loses his cool and swears during a live t.v. broadcast. :) You had some great shots here, and this was a good choice to post for its viewpoint.
The side lighting really emphasizes the excess spray from the falls, and helps give a strong sense of its power. It also makes for a nice, bright surface on the water below from right to left as it fades darker, a subtle but effective aspect to the scene. The blue sky is splendid color against the otherwise lighter tones.
Glad you were able to keep your camera protected, I'm sure there was a lot of force being exuded from Mother Nature! So happy you've been able to experience these parts of America. :) Have a great day ahead. Be well my friend.
Warmest wishes from the West coast...or close to it anyway,

Hi Mr I.F,
You have a wonderful trip - first Grand Canyon, now Niagara Falls. Fantastic mist and power of nature. I almost hear the roaring of falling water. it must have been unforgettable experience.
I am envious, when I was there, there was still ice so the boat trip was not possible. I think the most impact is to see the falls from below rather then from the viewing platform above.

your USA experience was surely rewarding and marvellous. Your excitement and joy is evident in your pictures and notes. I like very much your wholehearted approach to the wonderful places you saw there. This piscture is superb, the sight is awesome and the warm light on the cold colours is beautiful. I also like the textures and the formidable dynamism that prevails in the frame. You're passing on the dream to the viewer:) Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,

nowadays there are only 3 big waterfalls in the world (Iguassu, Niagara and Victoria) and I knew Iguassu (near my home) Victoria (I visited few days ago) and someday I want to know this one, that one with the most quantity of water, the first waterfalls in quantity of water was located few km far from my home and was destroyed by a giant dam in 1983 (sete quedas falls was located in paraná river)..
Very nice this lower view, a not easy task because the intense and powerful spray. excellent use of the light. TFS.
