Take a walk around midtown Manhattan, and you'll see the same scene played out over and over: business people in smart suits, coming in and out of the many modern skyscrapers. The towers and the people might be different, but they are also very similar.
Here, some midtown people stand inside the glass entrance to the Citigroup Center. This skyscraper is one of the ten tallest in NYC, and instantly recognizable from its wedge-shaped roof. The base also appears to be on giant stilts. Reflecting in the giant glass wall are other buildings on Lexington Avenue. On the left, you can see one man entering through the revolving doors.
It's just a glimpse into the world of these midtown people...

I like this urban abstract a lot,I wonder how many pele actually stop to take in their surroundings. I would guess in the hustle and bustle, not too many, so at least your post allows us to enjoy its concrete beauty. A very nice composition with all of these strong lines.
I do know this building too, isn't it the one with a church under one corner? I seen a fascinating programme a few years ago about how there was a design fault in the structure and the whole place had to be reinforced to stop it falling over in a storm. So would think a place so impressive so would be delicate!

Hey Smart Suit! ;)
Yay, a newbie has arrived! :) You know, the title now begs to have a supporting series of people from each borough represented....get to work! lol
Excellent observation here Brenda, and a truly defining slice of every day life in Manhattan. So often we see pictures of these working professionals on the streets, but this capture paints them in their...shall we say, "natural habitat." I especially like how each person is positioned within their own "cage" too...it's the human version of Wild America.
Love the reflective effects as well, a smartly coordinated fusion of big city life and element. Enjoy the weekend ahead. All the best.

Great ideas and a highly productive lens work in mid-town Brenda! An artistic shot consists of graphic shapes and grids that fit together well with modern twist to it. An impressive low shooting angle and perspective is great in good clarity, reflection, shadows and bit of distorted reflections with a nice blue touch. The ever busy people about town are there awaiting to be included to vigourise this capture. What a trained eye you have! Congrats

Midtown...I;ve not heard that term before, and Uptown and Downtown are really only things I heard in Billy Joel songs :) I like the tight cut here, the excellent graphism and luminous reflections. The people add a sense of scale and elements of extra interest. The reflections of the trees have a lovely effect too.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day

This is a fascinating study in facades and reflections. I had to study it to see what is a reflection and what is refraction here. There is a certain mystery established in the way the four individuals in the photograph are all facing the right... as if polarized.
Warm regards, Brenda,

funny to hear that Lisa hadn't heard of the term midtown :)
Its certainly a common 'language' when referring to NYC, uptown, downtown, midtown, chinatown...it goes on and on and i'm sure you know many more terms.
classic shot of these NYC robots lol
they must seem to be everywhere in Manhattan :)
fun shot, really like it
