Photographer's Note

Times Square is always a busy and crazy place, but things got even more interesting this past week. Today is "Super Bowl Sunday". The championship game of the National Football League will be played tonight, and for many people this is a big event. Every year the Super Bowl is held in a different stadium, and this year the game will be played across the river in New Jersey.

What does this have to do with Times Square?? Well, even though the game will be played in New Jersey, New York is also considered the cohost, and Times Square was turned into Super Bowl Boulevard with lots of football-related activities.

A few days ago I took a walk over to check out the action, and it was even more crowded and busy than usual, with tons of police, cameras, and visitors. It was hard to walk around, and an even greater challenge to cross the street. In the middle of a gridlocked crosswalk, I turned around, and found the NY police, and a yellow taxi stopped in front of the giant neon news ticker.

In the WS are two more photos: one of the intersection with a Super Bowl ad included, and another showing the giant toboggan run that many people enjoyed.
